Here I am… right now:

We had some grout work done on our shower four days ago, and the guy was here working on it when it was time for Matthew’s nap. So he couldn’t sleep in our room. I put him in his room with a Surface running Migh.ty Machines, and left. He slept great. The next day, the grout guy told Matthew he needed to sleep in his room again because the shower was drying. Thank you, lying grout guy! And by the third day, he wanted to sleep in his room.
And he’s there now.
And for the first time in 2 years, almost to the day, I have my room back at nap time. I have 1-1.5 hours of me time, watching mindless TV, or blogging, or running on the treadmill, or chatting online with you guys.
Taking control back… that’s me!
(now, I need to go… Bryson is up!)

Hi, there, I’m Courtney. I never planned to stay home with my kids, but I got sucked into motherhood when my first baby came into our lives after years of infertility and multiple rounds of IVF. His brother followed closely behind, something we didn’t plan on after having such a rough road with achieving parenthood the first time around. My boys are IVF cycle twins, conceived on the same day but born two years and one day apart (they were both transferred on the same day in October, but with two years between them). My boys are the best of friends and my husband is a terrific husband, father, and most importantly… friend. He fully supported my desire to stay home (“I just wanted it to be your idea and not mine, I totally want you to stay home and raise our kids!”) and encourages me in everything I do.
I am a lover of projects, spreadsheets, fitness, healthy cooking and eating, crafts, selling my stuff on FB (HA!), and the outdoors. If I’m active, I’m pretty darn happy!

PS – that’s me reading MillionBabySteps (https://millionbabysteps.wordpress.com/2015/04/27/theyll-be-different-they-said/) and watching Glee. YES – mindless TV, but damn, the music is so great!

Thanks! I love that photo of them playing together! Unfortunately, that is not our yard – it’s the neighbor’s yard. Our yard sort of sucks (but I shouldn’t say that to you because you don’t have one. Sorry!)
I love pinging you in the day again!!!!!

That little stinker! I think that Matthew will nap until we tell him to stop. He fought it today, but I put him down way early so I could whip up another blog post. I’m so selfish!
Lids, get some napping in, girl!

That alone time is so crucial to sanity. 🙂 YAY for grout work bringing about unexpected changes!

Grout guy for the win! Just today Drake fell asleep in our bed with JJ before nap time. It was super sweet because it never happens, but when JJ took him to his room so he could get ready for work, it ruined nap time and he was up the rest of the day. Some cuddles are awesome but I long for nap time so I can have a little alone time. And now with all your purging and organizing pretty much done, you can totally relax during that time!
