Matthew got to see his second cousins today – and he had fun! H is just 5 days older than him, which is super fun! F just had her 6th birthday. My cousin and I were hanging out in the kitchen when F hollered, “I’m surrounded by babies over here!” We ran in to find this:

Hi, there, I’m Courtney. I never planned to stay home with my kids, but I got sucked into motherhood when my first baby came into our lives after years of infertility and multiple rounds of IVF. His brother followed closely behind, something we didn’t plan on after having such a rough road with achieving parenthood the first time around. My boys are IVF cycle twins, conceived on the same day but born two years and one day apart (they were both transferred on the same day in October, but with two years between them). My boys are the best of friends and my husband is a terrific husband, father, and most importantly… friend. He fully supported my desire to stay home (“I just wanted it to be your idea and not mine, I totally want you to stay home and raise our kids!”) and encourages me in everything I do.
I am a lover of projects, spreadsheets, fitness, healthy cooking and eating, crafts, selling my stuff on FB (HA!), and the outdoors. If I’m active, I’m pretty darn happy!

These photos are just adorable!! 🙂 Glad M got to hang out with his cousins for the day. Lids has a cousin (my brother’s son) just 2 weeks older than her… and although they rarely get to see eachother (he lives in Canada), it is so nice to have another family member so close in age for her to grow up with and spend time with over the years, which I am sure will be the same with M and H.

It’s so important to instill the importance of family. It can be hard to do though. I need to remind myself to setup these little play dates or they just won’t happen.

So fun! You know we spend a lot of time with Stan’s cousins and their kids (Sofi’s second cousins) but we all feel like it’s a much “closer” relationship than that. I love that Sofi will have those “cousins” to grow up with since I’m heartbroken my sister (and niece) live so far away (or perhaps it’s me who lives so far away…)! And it’s great that Matthew has such close cousins too!

Yeah, my sisters live far away too (not oceans away, but one seems like she does) and the kids see each other just a few times a year. It’s nice to have family close by for M to learn the importance of family. I feel very lucky!

I love how yours was the first I got an email about but is the last in my reader LOL. I love the kids playing together. So adorable. This is a great idea. I wish I was feeling it this week, but maybe we can make this a weekly thing. 😀
