Help and Honesty

I accidentally, yes ACCIDENTALLY, fell into two new pair of jeans today.  I was killing time at a sporting goods store that has neat jeans and I went there for tops.  Well, they had “Kut from the Kloth” jeans on sale and I peaked just because Nordstr.om R.ack has this brand and I wanted to compare prices.  The first one I grabbed (Farrah boot cut) was $25 – marked down from $82.  They were my size – the only 6’s in the bunch.  I figured, what the hell… and I grabbed them.

Then, I went to my neighbor’s for the kids to play, and she’d ordered the wrong length of G.ap jeans.  She has to return them by mail so asked if I wanted to buy them off of her (we do this a lot!).  I said I’d try them because they were 27’s and I figured they’d be too small (she’s always pawning stuff off on me and I’m always polite and say I’ll try it, and then get rid of it myself  or tell her it didn’t work out for me).  I LOVE G.ap Long and Lean jeans, but I truly thought they’d be too small.

I tried both pair of jeans on at her house and her advice was to keep them both – because, “they look good and they were $25!  And show Hottie the G.ap ones and just bring them back if he doesn’t like them.”  Sounded reasonable.  I brought them both home.

In the privacy of my own home, I of course re-tried them on and took pictures.  I need to know what you guys think.  The first pair, Kut from the Kloth, were truly $24.99.  The second pair, the G.ap Long and Leans, are $52 (or so she thinks – we’ll sort it all out if I keep them).

Are they worth keeping?  Be honest.

Hi, there, I’m Courtney. I never planned to stay home with my kids, but I got sucked into motherhood when my first baby came into our lives after years of infertility and multiple rounds of IVF. His brother followed closely behind, something we didn’t plan on after having such a rough road with achieving parenthood the first time around. My boys are IVF cycle twins, conceived on the same day but born two years and one day apart (they were both transferred on the same day in October, but with two years between them). My boys are the best of friends and my husband is a terrific husband, father, and most importantly… friend. He fully supported my desire to stay home (“I just wanted it to be your idea and not mine, I totally want you to stay home and raise our kids!”) and encourages me in everything I do. I am a lover of projects, spreadsheets, fitness, healthy cooking and eating, crafts, selling my stuff on FB (HA!), and the outdoors. If I’m active, I’m pretty darn happy!

  1. I’d keep the KFTK jeans for sure – your ass looks AMAZING in them.

I’d return the Gap, just b/c they look nice, but not as nice at KFTK, and they’re similar style. I also don’t like the light wash on the thighs as much either. Since you already have a bunch of other bottoms, those I’d return. They both fit great though!

    • Thank you! I think the gap ones make me look thick from the front. I didn’t want to say that in the post… Don’t want to sway the votes. 😁

      I knew you’d be honest!

    • This is exactly what I was going to say!!! Your butt looks great in the KFTK ones!!!!! And only $25!!!

  2. I agree with Jos. Both are great, but the KFTK jeans are amazing on you!

  3. as you know not a huge boot leg fan and you did get some the other day so…….if you had to get rid of any I would say the Gap ones. And maybe to justify purchase you could sell off the jeans that are too big for you!

  4. I think the KFTK jeans look great on you, and what a deal! I would definitely keep those.

If you don’t already have plenty of jeans, I’d say keep the others, too, because I think they also look good. But not quite as good as the KFTK pair. 🙂

  5. HONESTLY I don’t particularly love either, but I am definitely not a boot leg fan. (Well, sometimes I am ON ME because I need the balance, but you decidedly do NOT.) I definitely prefer the KFTK ones, so if you’re going to keep one keep those. I don’t love the washed out thigh look that the GAP ones have and I also think the GAP ones’ leg is slightly too wide.

  6. Yup. KFTK is the way to go. The other are fine, but nothing special. Great deal!!

  7. I have gotten away from the boot leg jeans myself, but I still have one pair just in case. The KFTK jeans make your butt look fantastic so I would choose to keep those out of the two. The others almost look too long if you were going to wear them with flats or sneakers.

  8. I agree with most everyone else. I love the first ones and those fun pockets and just the look of the denim.. and your butt looks great in them! Since the GAP ones are similar but not quite as nice (and more expensive), I wouldn’t keep the GAP ones.

  9. I have two pairs of KFTK jeans that I got in Stick Fix boxes and I love them! Something about them just feels and fits perfectly. I am with most everyone else, keep those and send the GAP ones back. I am not fashion forward at all, but the KFTK just rock on you! 🙂
