Friday marked a seasonal shift for us here in Iowa. It’s been unseasonably hot for weeks, but on Friday, there was finally a cool breeze in the air. It was so cool that I had to get some jeans out for Matthew to wear and I realized that this was his first time wearing 2T pants. Matthew’s gotten rather slim this summer, with his size 5 diapers being bigger on him in September than they were in May, but there’s no denying his growth in height. His legs are longer and leaner, and he definitely needs the extra length in his 2T jeans.
He looks so much older.
He looks like a big kid versus a toddler.
It’s a new season, both in temperature and in parenting. This picture makes me very aware of that.

Hi, there, I’m Courtney. I never planned to stay home with my kids, but I got sucked into motherhood when my first baby came into our lives after years of infertility and multiple rounds of IVF. His brother followed closely behind, something we didn’t plan on after having such a rough road with achieving parenthood the first time around. My boys are IVF cycle twins, conceived on the same day but born two years and one day apart (they were both transferred on the same day in October, but with two years between them). My boys are the best of friends and my husband is a terrific husband, father, and most importantly… friend. He fully supported my desire to stay home (“I just wanted it to be your idea and not mine, I totally want you to stay home and raise our kids!”) and encourages me in everything I do.
I am a lover of projects, spreadsheets, fitness, healthy cooking and eating, crafts, selling my stuff on FB (HA!), and the outdoors. If I’m active, I’m pretty darn happy!

Um, yes. Not really babies at all anymore, are they? Kid all the way. I have a set of PJs that always make me a little maudlin as they’re 2Ts as well – it’s that extra “T” that changes things…

YES! That stupid T makes them sound so much bigger! I love that Gap now does “2 years” instead of “2T.” It sounds younger to me!

It’s crazy how fast they grow!!!! I love the fall!!!!!

I do too! I’m excited for it to really get going here in a few weeks. I am ready for apple cider!

Ahh he sure does look like a big boy now. I’ve been thinking that in all your recent photos of him! And fall… oh how I miss fall!!! And just seasons in general… opposed to ‘hot’, ‘very hot’ and ‘crazy hot’ year long… but I suppose I best not complain too much! 😉

Complain all you want! We all love seasons, even if we just love them for a short amount of time when they get here, and are ready for them to change almost immediately.

Stella is in 2T pants as well, and I keep thinking they look huge — and then I put them on her and they fit perfectly. Eek!
Love the seasons changing analogy. 🙂

She must be tall… or have long legs!

Both! Always been around 90th percentile for height & weight. I guess I’m 5’8″ and Charlie’s 6’3″ and neither of us are tiny people. She’s bound to be bigger. 🙂

2T pants are still long for Aiden, but I think it will be anytime now that they fit perfectly! I keep hearing that when you have a second baby, your first born looks so much older. I keep thinking that Aiden looks older since turning 2 last week. We are also getting cooler whether here in WY, but we don’t get much of a fall. I bet by the end of this month we will have snow! SO not ready for my active boy to be inside…BOOOO!

2T is too long for Matthew, but 18-24 are too short.
Everyone told me the same thing – that Matthew would seem like a giant once the new baby came. But he never really did to me. But that may be because Bryson is a big boy 😉

Finn is at the exact same point – 2T are too long, but 18-24 are too short.
They’re growing SO fast!

Oh my gosh, that Finn is so cute. I can’t get over it!
