The Monday Snapshot – Not So Recent, But Hey!

It’s time for another Monday Snapshot, hosted by PAIL.  I went through my camera roll on my phone and could find nothing – NOTHING.  I have been just terrible at taking photos of Matthew lately, mostly because he’s moving so quickly that he won’t sit still long enough for me to take a photo.  AND – the minute he sees the phone pointed at him, he wants to be the one to TAKE the picture, not the one to be IN the picture.  The front-facing camera has allowed me to get some shots, but they’re never very clear:

See - would be super cute if it was more clear! Look at him posing!

And then I remembered this photo – that B took with our good camera that I am actually using as the wallpaper on my phone right now.  I switch up my lock-screen photo rather regularly, but I just can’t seem to get myself to replace this one.  So here is my “official” Monday Snapshot photo!

This captures him in all of his mischief, cuteness, and sweetness!

Hi, there, I’m Courtney. I never planned to stay home with my kids, but I got sucked into motherhood when my first baby came into our lives after years of infertility and multiple rounds of IVF. His brother followed closely behind, something we didn’t plan on after having such a rough road with achieving parenthood the first time around. My boys are IVF cycle twins, conceived on the same day but born two years and one day apart (they were both transferred on the same day in October, but with two years between them). My boys are the best of friends and my husband is a terrific husband, father, and most importantly… friend. He fully supported my desire to stay home (“I just wanted it to be your idea and not mine, I totally want you to stay home and raise our kids!”) and encourages me in everything I do. I am a lover of projects, spreadsheets, fitness, healthy cooking and eating, crafts, selling my stuff on FB (HA!), and the outdoors. If I’m active, I’m pretty darn happy!

  1. I love both of these photos. It is a shame the top one isn’t more clear, but still great of the two of you. And that second one is just gorgeous!! What a handsome, happy little guy!!! Love him! 🙂

    • Thanks! The first one captures how he “hugs” me throughout the day – he bends his head in to touch foreheads and then runs off to play. It’s the sweetest thing ever! The second one… well… that’s just HIM!

You need to post again, Lady. I miss YOU!

  2. I hate that my phone pics can be so blurry sometimes. There is the off chance it gives the picture a filtered look and it looks nice that way. But more often than not, it’s just not super clear. And some of those pics are the best. I rarely have my good camera out in a flash, mostly because now that Raegan is into EVERYTHING, I’m afraid she’s going to break it.

However, both of these pictures are wonderful….and the “good camera” one really does capture mischief…..LOVE IT!

    • My Windows Phone takes wonderful photos – except when it’s in front-facing mode. Most pictures I post are from my phone, if not all of them. But still, they’re not the same as using the good camera. Never will be!

We keep the good camera put away for the exact same reason. Sigh.

  3. Awh – BOTH are great pics!

    • Didn’t mean to hit post yet. Oops. At any rate, I really need to get an iPhone with a front camera – Stella is always doing that “wants to SEE the pic” thing before I’ve taken one!

      • You knew this was coming.. but look at the new Windows Phones. much more intuitive than Iphones. I LOVE mine, and I’m not one for technological change 😉 Best phone I’ve ever used, and I’m not just saying that because B works for them. I had an android for the longest time while he worked at MS because I refused to change. WP8 made me change my mind!

  4. He is such a lover, isnt he? That is so sweet how he hugs you. And the second picture is just beyond adorable!

  5. I agree with Fiona; I love bith of these photos. Matthew is too precious!

  6. Oh yep, that face is precious! What a great shot!!

  7. Thanks! B is pretty good at catching his cute looks with the good camera. Of course, that means we have probably 8 bad photos for every 1 good one. HA!
