Things Are Changing Over Here

It was time to get more comfortable, so I pulled out my old maternity clothes.

Heaven!

I dress better when I’m pregnant than when I’m not because I can’t wear all of my old, baggy stuff from over the years. I had to go out and buy maternity clothes two years ago and it turns out they’re nicer than the things I usually wear. Probably because I bought them for work . Ha!

What’s nice about this is that I just feel better about myself. I look more put together, and quite honestly…. I’ve needed some motivation lately to not look like a SAHM who doesn’t have time to do her hair!

What’s not nice about my old stash is that I started this pregnancy 25 pounds lighter than I started Matthew’s pregnancy (I’m not actually complaining) … so the jeans and pants are too big. Good thing my little sister sent me her smaller jeans when she brought my maternity clothes back to me. She’s a nice girl!

Today, I am comfortable. It’s wonderful!

And today, I started these… they’ll all go on my pregnancy page, but I thought I’d kick it off here since today is the big move to more comfort. 😉

Hi, there, I’m Courtney. I never planned to stay home with my kids, but I got sucked into motherhood when my first baby came into our lives after years of infertility and multiple rounds of IVF. His brother followed closely behind, something we didn’t plan on after having such a rough road with achieving parenthood the first time around. My boys are IVF cycle twins, conceived on the same day but born two years and one day apart (they were both transferred on the same day in October, but with two years between them). My boys are the best of friends and my husband is a terrific husband, father, and most importantly… friend. He fully supported my desire to stay home (“I just wanted it to be your idea and not mine, I totally want you to stay home and raise our kids!”) and encourages me in everything I do. I am a lover of projects, spreadsheets, fitness, healthy cooking and eating, crafts, selling my stuff on FB (HA!), and the outdoors. If I’m active, I’m pretty darn happy!

  1. Yay! Glad you started taking these! And I just realized it had been 7 weeks since I have…oops! You look great – your face says it all. 🙂

  2. I LOVE maternity clothes! I thought this pregnancy I’d have to buy new stuff since I’m technically in a different season, but since it’s still in the 80s here (BLEH!) my summer stuff has worked just fine! You look great!

    • Don’t complain about your warm weather to me 😉 HA HA!

      Thanks!

I’m glad you’ve been able to get use out of your old maternity clothes. It’s so nice to not have to buy all new stuff (well… sometimes…)!

  3. I never took a single belly shot except for one while doing an assignment for my photography class…probably my biggest regret. If I ever get pregnant again, I will most DEFINITELY be taking them…

You’re looking wonderful….and I agree my maternity clothes are much nicer than my regular clothes…of course I didn’t really wear maternity clothes until well into my pregnancy…was too scared to jinx myself…So happy for you and so excited to follow you on this journey…

  4. You look fantastic!!! So glad you are now in some comfy clothes! I am sure it feels so much better. I never had maternity clothes because they don’t sell them here but could luckily wear flowy summery dresses the whole time.

    • Thanks! I don’t feel fantastic.. I feel bloated. HA! I just bought new maternity jeans at Ga.p today – they were all half off. I am so happy!

I just love these little tidbits you give us about your life there – I never thought about the fact that some places (many places) don’t have maternity clothes. Makes sense, but it never occurred to me! Thank you for that!

  5. Oooh – you are looking like I do now… and i”m not pregnant. Your cute little belly looks great!

  6. YAY! You look fabulous! And it sounds like you’re feeling pretty fabulous too! Makes me so happy. 😀
