Hi, there, I’m Courtney. I never planned to stay home with my kids, but I got sucked into motherhood when my first baby came into our lives after years of infertility and multiple rounds of IVF. His brother followed closely behind, something we didn’t plan on after having such a rough road with achieving parenthood the first time around. My boys are IVF cycle twins, conceived on the same day but born two years and one day apart (they were both transferred on the same day in October, but with two years between them). My boys are the best of friends and my husband is a terrific husband, father, and most importantly… friend. He fully supported my desire to stay home (“I just wanted it to be your idea and not mine, I totally want you to stay home and raise our kids!”) and encourages me in everything I do. I am a lover of projects, spreadsheets, fitness, healthy cooking and eating, crafts, selling my stuff on FB (HA!), and the outdoors. If I’m active, I’m pretty darn happy!

OMG I have the SAME water cup, color and all from when I gave birth last year! Please don’t tell me yours says “St. Vincent’s” on it! 🙂

No – mine says Mercy and was actually from a bone tumor removal surgery – not from birthing Matthew. The cup I got from the hospital where he was born sucks compared to this one. I’ve considered delivering my next baby at Mercy so I can get another one of these cups for B 😉

It seriously is the BEST cupt I’ve ever used. I still fill mine up a few times a day and have thought about asking a friend of mine to give me hers so I can have a back up for the car! Deliver at Mercy just for the cup, do it. Have your hubby ask for one too so you can have a few extra!

What a cutie. How did you teach him to drink from a straw? I can’t seem to figure that out.
October 15, 2012 at 11:16 pm
That is all B. We would use a straw very early on and “drop” water into his mouth when out at restaurants. And I don’t know if you knew this, but Matthew was on a sippy cup at 4 months because he decided to refuse bottles – so he’s always been ahead on these things. So anyway, B really kept pushing the straw thing and just kep re-presenting it and he got it. They make straw cups that work upside down too – maybe that’s a way to teach them?
We’ve been lucky with the cups. Have you tried a straw sippy? we started with the Avent straw cup and they are great because they have a very easy flow. Some of the others are hard to get water out of! http://mommyhoodafterfertilityfrustration.wordpress.com/

That’s his job 😉

I love this….Raegan only chews on straws at this point…hasn’t quite figured them out. I have like 10 of those cups (nurse’s day gifts and hospitalizations). I love the pic! So cute! Hope you’re resting up and your little embies are settling in nicely!

I’m so bummed my cup broke from my stay at the hospital when I had Chloe. It’s one that has two layers of plastic, and during the time when I loved ice, I’d fill the cup full, then shake it to break up the big ice clumps. It eventually cracked the inside layer, so now water (or whatever I’m drinking) leaks into the second layer. I love how I’m not the only one who kept that cup, and loves it so much.

I think it’s required that they love what we love, huh?

Too cute 🙂

Yes he is. He makes it hard to be firm sometimes (like when he steals my cup. HA!). 😉

Perfect cup to use after your transfer! Matthew is such a cutie pie.

That cup looks awesome! Although, the circumstances to get it were probably anything but awesome
Cute pic!

He’s such a cutie! Looks like he’s thinking – momma? In bed? All weekend? I think I’ll steal some water because she can’t chase me afterwards! 😉

Such a cutie! Amazing how quickly they can learn things like straws!!!
October 16, 2012 at 1:08 pm
I know! He learned the straw early – and I don’t really know why. But the HUGE STRAW – that blew my mind! (We were changing diapers every 20 minutes that day because of that big straw. HA!)
