Hi, all! I need more input.
I bought this complete outfit the other day, but can’t wear it for a bit (hot weather here). I have thought about this outfit since I bought it and I love it, in theory.

The pants are way off reservation for me, but I like them! They are expensive, so I wanted to be sure they work WELL with at least a couple of things I currently have. Here is what I’ve paired with them… I don’t think the light grey sweater works. The last photo shows the back of the pants.

What do you think of all 4 pairings, including the entire new outfit? I have gotten 2 no votes on the vest. I think it’s interesting (and enlightening) to hear how others see me, and I LOVE the input!
Thanks, ladies!!!

Hi, there, I’m Courtney. I never planned to stay home with my kids, but I got sucked into motherhood when my first baby came into our lives after years of infertility and multiple rounds of IVF. His brother followed closely behind, something we didn’t plan on after having such a rough road with achieving parenthood the first time around. My boys are IVF cycle twins, conceived on the same day but born two years and one day apart (they were both transferred on the same day in October, but with two years between them). My boys are the best of friends and my husband is a terrific husband, father, and most importantly… friend. He fully supported my desire to stay home (“I just wanted it to be your idea and not mine, I totally want you to stay home and raise our kids!”) and encourages me in everything I do.
I am a lover of projects, spreadsheets, fitness, healthy cooking and eating, crafts, selling my stuff on FB (HA!), and the outdoors. If I’m active, I’m pretty darn happy!

I want to preface my remarks by saying that I am not-at-all-fashionable and am a very conservative dresser, so take my opinions with those caveats in mind. 😉
I dislike that vest, and I really don’t care for the pants either. I don’t like the plaid pattern. (The cut of them is very cute and flattering on you, though.)
Just being honest, as requested. . . .

Thank you! I appreciate your honesty!

So remember that my comments are coming from the fashionably disabled perspective. 🙂
I like the pants. I think they look great on you! I’m not sold on the vest.
Where is Chon’s two cents? 🙂

Chon was my first no vote on the vest. Then the neighbor (the one who gives me good stuff, because she buys great things but doesn’t wear them – my win!). I sent to Chon this AM, but I didn’t want to tell you guys it was her who said no. HA!

Sorry peeps I was asleep!

So, I don’t like the vest much. I think it’s a good idea in theory but it’s too long and I think matronly. That print on the pants needs some edginess to balance it out. Like a long sleeved white tee and a puffer vest with your grey Keds. Or a knee-high flat black boot with the grey sweater maybe, as I think the higher boot keeps it younger.

PERFECT! This is why I post this stuff! THANK YOU!!! I REALLY want to keep the pants… ha!

I agree with A – the vest is matronly! That’s exactly what I don’t like about it.
I love the pants, but spice them up with a edgier cut shirt that’s still a solid color.

You all are saving me a lot of money with the vest. I didn’t post prices because I thought that may sway people. I know that weighs into my thoughts on your stitch fix posts! Anyway…. Going back tomorrow. THANK YOU!

I think everyone has given you great advice. I still love the pants – I love that they are different and you can totally carry them off. Another nice look would be black loafers and maybe a sheer black blouse with some chunky silver jewelry then that could turn it into a night outfit and I like the turtleneck

I actually looked at a sheer black top online today, and am trying in store tomorrow. 😊 I’m keeping the pants… I love them!
I think it’s interesting that everyone said the same thing you did this morning, but without knowing you said it! How’s that for a controlled experiment?

I love the pants on you. I also really like the shirt. Not a fan of the vest to long and bulky for your frame. It’s quite fun seeing what other people buy.

I am late to commenting but I love the pants!! I think a lot of people wouldn’t be brave enough to wear them and that makes them even better. You look fab in them!! I agree with everyone else… no on the vest… mostly because it is so long. I think all of the shirts are nice but maybe none are the perfect outfit with the pants. I agree with others about finding something a bit more edgy for on top. Maybe cut the sleeves off that denim shirt?? No? Too edgy? 😉 Maybe a simple black or even white top with a solid colour scarf? Simple white top with black blazer?

I think the pants could work – not sure I’m crazy about either shirt with them, and if I had to pick, I would say black. The vest is out. Way too long in my opinion.

You’re all going to love this one…. During my closet clean out this morning, I found not one, but 2 tops to go with the pants, and maybe a third. One of the tops is edgy! Ha ha!!!!

I posted a new post with alternate tops with the pants…

I’m sorry to confess that I don’t like the pants! *cringe*

That’s OK!
