Wordless Wednesday – Different Mistakes, Same Result (aka I’m No Baby Sleep Whisperer… But I’m Trying!)

Hi, there, I’m Courtney. I never planned to stay home with my kids, but I got sucked into motherhood when my first baby came into our lives after years of infertility and multiple rounds of IVF. His brother followed closely behind, something we didn’t plan on after having such a rough road with achieving parenthood the first time around. My boys are IVF cycle twins, conceived on the same day but born two years and one day apart (they were both transferred on the same day in October, but with two years between them). My boys are the best of friends and my husband is a terrific husband, father, and most importantly… friend. He fully supported my desire to stay home (“I just wanted it to be your idea and not mine, I totally want you to stay home and raise our kids!”) and encourages me in everything I do. I am a lover of projects, spreadsheets, fitness, healthy cooking and eating, crafts, selling my stuff on FB (HA!), and the outdoors. If I’m active, I’m pretty darn happy!

  1. Is that his room or your room? 🙂

    • His room. But it was not good. Every 2 hours, then at 4:30, I called it quits and put him in bed with us…. Where he refused to sleep. Trying the swing tonight per Josey!

      • Bummer. 😦 Do you have the white noise machine going in his room? We’ve noticed Drake takes better naps in his swing, although we still try to first put him down in his crib. Hopefully that does the trick for you too!

  2. Sorry you had such a rough night. Callen is sleeping with us still. I tried the swing and bouncer again, but he wasn’t having it. This sleep stuff is so hard!

  3. Hope things are better this this post but he does look so sweet and cozy in there!!

    • Things are not good, but his cuteness in the middle of the night helps the situation. HA! I was up for 2 hours last night because he wanted to party. And then again 2-3 hours later (I don’t even remember anymore!). But it’s all OK!
