I started taking these pictures of Matthew on accident, really, when he was a little over a year old. I was cycling out his 6-12 month clothes and replacing them with 12-18 month clothes. When I took the picture of him on his pile of retired clothes, I wished I’d done that every time he moved up a size. I told myself then that I would do that every time he moved up to a new size… And I’ve remembered to do it!
Matthew was still in some 18-24 jeans (and could still wear them now) and t-shirts until just now so I’ve been waiting to take the photo. It turns out that Bryson is moving to all 3-6 month clothes now (which is exactly when Matthew moved into them too), so it was time to take his photo on his 0-3 month pile of clothes.
Taking Bryson’s photo today really made me wish I’d done this all along with Matthew. Sigh!

Hi, there, I’m Courtney. I never planned to stay home with my kids, but I got sucked into motherhood when my first baby came into our lives after years of infertility and multiple rounds of IVF. His brother followed closely behind, something we didn’t plan on after having such a rough road with achieving parenthood the first time around. My boys are IVF cycle twins, conceived on the same day but born two years and one day apart (they were both transferred on the same day in October, but with two years between them). My boys are the best of friends and my husband is a terrific husband, father, and most importantly… friend. He fully supported my desire to stay home (“I just wanted it to be your idea and not mine, I totally want you to stay home and raise our kids!”) and encourages me in everything I do.
I am a lover of projects, spreadsheets, fitness, healthy cooking and eating, crafts, selling my stuff on FB (HA!), and the outdoors. If I’m active, I’m pretty darn happy!

I love these photos so much!!! And I just can’t believe how big they are both getting. Matthew looks like a complete little boy now… and Bryson is getting so big too… and so darn cute. Like I said on this photo on FB, he looks like a little play doll in that first one because he is just so perfect sitting there! 🙂

Oh, and I can’t believe how well Bryson is sitting up on his own! Drake would be all slumped over if I propped him up like that.

That took lots of work, Steph! He sat there for a second or two each time is all!

I’ve always loved these pics and thought about doing something similar but I never remember to do it when I’m changing out the clothes. I can’t get over how grown up Matthew looks in these pics….such a little boy. And Bryson is so freaking cute!!!

This is such a neat idea and a great way to mark the passage of time. Very cool! I wonder how long you can keep it up!
And I also was impressed with Bryson sitting up like that!
