All the Sun For You

A mom, two boys, a husband, and a whole lot of adventure!

THIS Moment in Time (#12)

First time sitting in the big boy chair without Mama during his hair cut. Not a peep out of him! He had his monkey (under his cape) and watched videos of his friends and himself on my phone the whole time. Proud moment for me!

Hi, there, I’m Courtney. I never planned to stay home with my kids, but I got sucked into motherhood when my first baby came into our lives after years of infertility and multiple rounds of IVF. His brother followed closely behind, something we didn’t plan on after having such a rough road with achieving parenthood the first time around. My boys are IVF cycle twins, conceived on the same day but born two years and one day apart (they were both transferred on the same day in October, but with two years between them). My boys are the best of friends and my husband is a terrific husband, father, and most importantly… friend. He fully supported my desire to stay home (“I just wanted it to be your idea and not mine, I totally want you to stay home and raise our kids!”) and encourages me in everything I do. I am a lover of projects, spreadsheets, fitness, healthy cooking and eating, crafts, selling my stuff on FB (HA!), and the outdoors. If I’m active, I’m pretty darn happy!

  1. Yay M!!! 🙂 What a big boy. He looks adorable.

  2. What a big boy! Great job Matthew!

  3. What a handsome little man.

  4. I still cannot believe he has had *multiple* haircuts! What a big boy!

    • His hair just keeps getting thicker and thicker. It’s almost out of control. We cut it every 5-6 weeks and have been doing so since what, 6 months old or so? Our hair gal says we need to come in more often now. Geesh! He has the hair of his father (before he lost it all!!!).

      • It’s so crazy how different these boys are! I still don’t even wash HGB’s hair unless he has REALLY used dinner as a pomade!

  5. He’s getting so big!! We still haven’t cut Sofia’s hair. There’s just so little of it that it seems pointless, although she IS growing quite the little mullet… 😉

  6. He is so stinkin’ cute!! He doesn’t look too sure in that picture though. What a big boy!

    • Thanks! That was taken as she was turning the blow dryer off. He likes the blow dryer at home, but was not sure of it there. No tears, but there was hesitation!

  7. So handsome! What a good boy!!! My S couldn’t sit still for a haircut that young!

  8. Such a big boy! And so handsome. Look out mama–he’s gonna be a heartbreaker.

  9. We just had the first haircut and the iphone saved us for sure. The hubby held him standing up, while I distracted him with the phone and the poor girl went from side to side getting what she could. I hope this is us for the next one! I need to borrow M for a toddler role model:] It wasn’t awful, but it was definitely a sweat breakout moment and we were glad when it was over!

  10. He is SO handsome! Nothing better than little boys with fresh haircuts!

  11. What a big boy! I’m so impressed!!
