On a whim today, we had photos taken with Santa. Last year, this went really, REALLY well. At this time last year, Santa advised us that the next year could be difficult and involve some fear.
There were tears.

And then B and I got in the shot and things got better.

All this tradition talk lately, and I realize that this is our tradition. We planned last year to always get a family photo with Santa, and I was hoping to be a little more prepared with proper hair and makeup but meh… life happens.
We will have breakfast with Santa next Saturday for our official Santa photo, but I’m pretty pleased with this one! This will be our holiday card photo… because I have got to get those out!

Hi, there, I’m Courtney. I never planned to stay home with my kids, but I got sucked into motherhood when my first baby came into our lives after years of infertility and multiple rounds of IVF. His brother followed closely behind, something we didn’t plan on after having such a rough road with achieving parenthood the first time around. My boys are IVF cycle twins, conceived on the same day but born two years and one day apart (they were both transferred on the same day in October, but with two years between them). My boys are the best of friends and my husband is a terrific husband, father, and most importantly… friend. He fully supported my desire to stay home (“I just wanted it to be your idea and not mine, I totally want you to stay home and raise our kids!”) and encourages me in everything I do.
I am a lover of projects, spreadsheets, fitness, healthy cooking and eating, crafts, selling my stuff on FB (HA!), and the outdoors. If I’m active, I’m pretty darn happy!

So sweet! Love the Santa! I don’t know if there’s a good one around here or not. But super cute… and I like the one with you in it best anyway. 🙂 The mom stays in the picture and all that…

Are you serious!? You look ADORABLE and you and your husband are both perfectly coordinated in red. Are you’re one of those “Oh, I didn’t even put a stitch of makeup on this morning, what a sight am I!” women who actually always looks amazing? I’M ON TO YOU! 😉
November 26, 2012 at 1:42 pm
Thank you, Jules! It’s a better-than-reality photo – my hair dried naturally that day (= flat and wavey) and I only put eyeliner and mascara on. I honestly thought he’d sit with Santa by himself. Ummmm… no!
No, I’m not one of those people who looks awesome without makeup. I look quite scary without it, actually! MUST ALWAYS WEAR EYELINER AND MASCARA (even though I don’t, always)!

I think it looks great, and you guys coordinated your colors really well! I am dreading pics with Santa this year. I’m hoping to go at a time when it’s not busy so we have more than one shot because I am picturing a screaming kid reaching for mom or dad. And speaking of cards, I am behind on that too. Sigh…

Thanks! I was actually wearing orange (I always wear orange – HA!) but it looks red… so yeah, it looks like we coordinated. YAY US! Being perfectly honest, last year, we did coordinate for our photo with Santa and we will this Saturday as well 😉

I had high hopes of getting a picture of Sofia with Santa while in the States this trip but then never got around to it… I might have to see if there are any places here that have Santa. If not, we’ll just go with a picture with the Three Kings. But I can see tears happening for sure…
Hope breakfast with Santa is fun!!

If you get a photo with the Three Kings, please post it. That sounds awesome!
