I have not been blogging because, well, I’m emotionally drained right now AND all I would be writing about is weaning and how much my breasts hurt (holy hell!). I am ready to be done with this – not to be done with nursing Matthew, but to be done with the weaning process. I do not like it one bit (but who does, right?! HA!)!
I did organize my frozen milk stash and that brought me much delight and comfort because it involved 1) organizing and 2) a spreadsheet. If all else fails, nothing calms my nerves like a complicated spreadsheet that only I understand 😉

Hi, there, I’m Courtney. I never planned to stay home with my kids, but I got sucked into motherhood when my first baby came into our lives after years of infertility and multiple rounds of IVF. His brother followed closely behind, something we didn’t plan on after having such a rough road with achieving parenthood the first time around. My boys are IVF cycle twins, conceived on the same day but born two years and one day apart (they were both transferred on the same day in October, but with two years between them). My boys are the best of friends and my husband is a terrific husband, father, and most importantly… friend. He fully supported my desire to stay home (“I just wanted it to be your idea and not mine, I totally want you to stay home and raise our kids!”) and encourages me in everything I do.
I am a lover of projects, spreadsheets, fitness, healthy cooking and eating, crafts, selling my stuff on FB (HA!), and the outdoors. If I’m active, I’m pretty darn happy!

Love the watermelon pics. Sofi is kinda particular and doesn’t like digging into a bag or bowl of things to get out a piece even if she loves whatever is in the bag/bowl. Kids.

She’s just a clean little girl. Nothing wrong with that!

You always have so many great pics, and I have to say that is some serious organizational acumen. Do you have an extra freezer just for all that breast milk!?! Your poor boobies. I am so terrified of weaning for that exact reason!

Oh, thanks!
You know what? We did buy the freezer just before having our son and the main reason was the breast milk and baby food. We use it tons for our meat (we buy all-natural meat monthly from a local vendor and it comes in frozen) – but for the first 6 months of Matthew’s life – it was just full of breast milk and baby food I’d prepared before he was ready to move to solids. It was a sad little freezer with just a stray frozen pizza or two in there until we started on the all-natural thing for ourselves (prompted by Matthew’s diet of organic and all-natural foods – no grains or processed foods at all).
The bins in that picture are EXACTLY the ones we used for baby food. They’re by Sterilite at Targ.et. “Clearview Latch 15 quart.” Purple latches. Seriously – they’re the perfect size! There’s a smaller one that we used for the meats/soups.
