I am in full-on birthday mode! I created a new page on my blog of all the things that need to get done, and have been done so far. I still have much to do, but B and I went through the list tonight and he likes what all is planned, and is very supportive of helping me find the time to finish up the rest. I wasn’t going to do a couple of things, but he wants the party to be a huge, fun bash as much as I do – so he’s added to my list. HA! We used to entertain like CRAZY (full-blown, 100+ guest lists, extensive food selections, endless drinks, SO FUN!), so we’re both pretty excited about this!
You can find the list here. I’ve included pictures of the things completed so far.
I am never so happy as when I have a party, or an event, or a project to plan the hell out of!!! 🙂

Hi, there, I’m Courtney. I never planned to stay home with my kids, but I got sucked into motherhood when my first baby came into our lives after years of infertility and multiple rounds of IVF. His brother followed closely behind, something we didn’t plan on after having such a rough road with achieving parenthood the first time around. My boys are IVF cycle twins, conceived on the same day but born two years and one day apart (they were both transferred on the same day in October, but with two years between them). My boys are the best of friends and my husband is a terrific husband, father, and most importantly… friend. He fully supported my desire to stay home (“I just wanted it to be your idea and not mine, I totally want you to stay home and raise our kids!”) and encourages me in everything I do.
I am a lover of projects, spreadsheets, fitness, healthy cooking and eating, crafts, selling my stuff on FB (HA!), and the outdoors. If I’m active, I’m pretty darn happy!

Great invite–I love all the “wild” animals in the grass with him. And you’re making me so excited to plan Alice’s first birthday party. I totally know what I’m going to do and it’s going to be awesome!

Thanks! I am happy with how the invitations turned out. Matthew was not in the best mood for the photos… but we had to get them done so we went with what we had to work with!
What is your theme? I am thinking about your cake topper already 😉

Well he looks pretty happy!
And my friend’s mom totally came up with it and I can’t believe I didn’t think of it, but it’s going to be: Alice in ONEderland.
Get it?

You amaze me! I’m intimidated by parties and so is my husband. I hope we’re able to work up the gumption to host a party for Mira’s first birthday.

You will – it doesn’t have to be big! The reason we’re going so “large” is because we just really, really love entertaining. Hosting a dinner party was the first thing B and I did socially when we met – and that was a mere 4 days after we met. It’s just in us – and it’s easy for us because we enjoy it. If we didn’t enjoy it, believe me, we wouldn’t be going to these lengths!
Nothing makes me happier than

I can’t wait to see how everything turns out, I’m sure it will be nothing short of amazing!! It always helps to have your husband on board when it’s crunch time to knock out those last few tasks.
